Narcissist Avoidance Action Week Launch

We all have a little bit of something in us; even narcissistic traits!

Everyone to some extent is 'narcissistic'. Healthy narcissism means that you have the ability to get your needs met, without damaging other people whilst doing so. Unhealthy narcissism is at play when individuals operate to an 'I win/you lose' model, which purposely or mindlessly undermines and diminishes other people. - Narcissistic Personality Disorder 101 Quiz

However, when we have dealings with someone who displays many traits or has a narcissistic personality it can make our life very difficult and cause us emotional turmoil. Gaining respite, limiting (or ceasing) contact can be a challenge especially if it's a family member. From my personal experience, the feelings of sadness and guilt that emerge when dealing with a parent who displays several narcissistic traits can feel like a punch in the gut. It's heartbreaking when this situation is caused by a parent and the situation continues on for years.

1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day or 1 week. YOU choose. YOU take control.

This is where we come in! One minute may sound crazy (and impossible) but we can show how that even taking 60 seconds out for self-care, when in a toxic relationship, can make a difference to our emotional and physical wellbeing.

During the launch week of 22-28 January 2018, we ran the following Facebook events providing helpful snippets and resources:
